Ingredients:
- 8-10 small Malu miris (Banana Peppers)
- 2 tbsp of oil
- Salt
- Ingredients for filling:
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 lb red onions, sliced finely
- 1/4 lb maldive fish pieces (optional)
- 1 tbsp chilli powder
- a sprig of curry leaves
- 2 inch piece cinnamon
- Salt to taste
Method :
Step 1 - Mix all the filling ingredients and stir fry in about 1 tbsp of oil in a pan for about 4-5mins under low heat and Set aside.
Step 2 - Now prepare the peppers Slit the peppers lengthwise, just long enough to stuff the fillings.
Step 3 - Carefully remove the seeds, taking care not to break the pepper.
Step 4 - Fill the cavity with the filling.Heat a saut pan. Add about 2 tbsp of oil. Stir fry the stuffed peppers, taking care not to break.
Step 5 - Add about a 1/4 cup of water with a pinch of salt, cover and cook for about 3-5 minutes under low heat.
